The ceremony, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, celebrated hospitals that excelled across various critical health indicators, including patient care, service efficiency, innovation, and quality assurance. Dr. Charles Olala, Director General of Health Services, praised the hospital's outstanding performance, stating that it was based on clear performance indicators.
"Our staff have gone above and beyond, and this recognition motivates us to continue improving services," Dr. Archibald Bahiza Newton, FRRH Director, said. The award highlights the hospital's commitment to teamwork and dedication, with significant improvements in maternal health, emergency response, and disease prevention.
Dr. Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, commended the hospital for its outstanding performance, emphasizing that achievements like this set a benchmark for all health facilities in Uganda. She encouraged other hospitals to emulate Fort Portal's commitment and innovations.
